This A10 kit had an excellent fit, just as you would expect from Tamiya. I decided to go with the lizard camouflage scheme: Euro dark Green, Medium Green, and Euro Gray. Testors Model Masters paint was my choice. Metalizer Exhaust was used for the rear of the engine; the intakes were brushed with Chrome Silver; the bombs, Olive Drab.
Using MV lenses on the Maverick missiles, the anti-collision light, white strobe light, and green and red for formation lights added a nice touch. Bare metal foil was applied to the laser guided missiles.
The canopy was dipped in Future Floor wax. This brings out the clarity of the plastic, making it look like real glass. I’ve found that dipping the canopy is better than spraying it. To dry it, I place it on a paper towel to wick off the excess wax.
I then gloss-coated the whole model with Future to put the decals on.
When that was finished, I over-sprayed it again using an acrylic flat to knock down the gloss.
