Roman Signifer
by Bob Caruso
This is the 120mm Roman Signifer by El Viejo Dragon. I painted the entire model using Andrea Acrylic, exempt for the Gold, which is Gunze.
I painted the chestplate black, then drybrushed silver over it. I find it easier to drybrush the highlights than to apply a wash.
Each signaler (staff) was different. They were used to give signals to the Legions during battle. It also made them the number one target on the battlefield as their enemies attempted to eliminate the Romans “Command and Control” structure first.
This particular signaler has the “Scorpio Plate” on it, honoring Julius Caesar’s Birthday.
