This Russian T-28 is the ICM kit and built right from the box. (Other than a few aftermarket additions like Hudson & Allen tow chains, scratch built tarp and the like – but no gun barrels or photo-etch detail parts were used.) This model is yet another attempt at a winter scheme and I still don’t feel that I’m getting the results that I want – I’ll have to keep trying.
The model was base coated in a light gray and the lower chassis and running gear were sprayed with a light coat of Floquil’s roof brown to give it a muddy and dirty look. Yes, those are the link-by-link tracks that come with the kit and they were applied to the model and painted right along with the rest of the kit (what fun!).
The tracks were washed and dry brushed as a unit, although they were on the model right from the beginning. The muffler was given several light applications of Rustall, then weathered with pastel chalks to represent soot and grime.
