Armored Aerosan

This is the kit of the Trumpeter 1/35 Armored Aerosan NKL-26 and their WWII Soviet Assault Red Army in winter gear. I modified the Aerosan by adding interior detail. The engine was raised and plumbed. Braking gear and cables were also added.
For the base, I used a mirror. It was then sprayed with Scotch Super 77 glue and coated with snow. The snow is a combination of Hudson Allen, Tec Star & Woodland Scenics.
The vehicle was weathered with Windsor Newton oils. The vehicle and figures were painted with Floquil, Model Master & Tamiya paints.
The shadow box was constructed of basswood and than covered with wood grain shelf paper. A 3 to 12 volt LED light operating from a 9 volt battery was attached to the top of the box.
This model took the 2nd place diorama award at a Flying Tigers model contest.
