Russian Winter

Russian Winter

 by Robert Caruso

Russian WinterWhen the German Army invaded Russia on 22 June 1941, they expected the Blitzkrieg to drive into the heart of Russia before the year was over.

However, when the advance bogged down outside of Moscow, the Germans were forced to endure the long Russian winter.

Most soldiers were not equipped with winter uniforms and as a result were forced to find warmth by any means necessary. This vignette depicts two Germans warming themselves by a stove. This 1/35 scale kit by CMK had most of the stuff cast onto the base.
