Roden 1/72 Pzk-2

Roden 1/72 Pzk-2

by Leo Cox

I scratch built the prop bosses and reshaped the bearings between props on this Roden 1/72 Pzk-2. One hundred-plus parts were added to each engine, such as the valve train, spark plugs and wires. I used 15-plus parts to remake each throttle body.

The magneto system and oil pump and gauges were scratch built. Also added was full plumbing: fuel, oil and electrical.

Extra detailing (like etch bolt heads, white glue drops, drilled out vents) was added to the framework, fuel tanks and rubber bumpers. Stainless steel bracing wires and simulated chafe coating on all turnbuckles and wires was also done.

This model won 1st place Rotary wing, best aircraft, and best pre WWII aircraft at the Flying Tigers Model Contest in New Orleans.
