Command Inspection

Command Inspection

by Gil Gonsoulin

This diorama – Command Inspection – was made using the Trumpeter Voroshilovets Tractor, B-4 M1931 203mm Howitzer and Command Inspection figure set.

Command Inspection

Both the tractor and howitzer were painted with Model Master Dark Green, then weathered with Winsor Newton oils. After weathering, the snow was added. The snow was a combination of Tech Star Hudson Allen and Woodland Scenics snow.

Both kits plastic tracks were replaced with Fruilmodel metal tracks. The tractor’s canvas top was painted with Humbrol Khaki Matt.

Command Inspection

The windows supplied with the kit were too thick and I replaced them with windows made from Micro-Glaze.

The howitzer’s barrel was replaced with a metal one from RB Models. Figures were painted with Tamiya and Model Master paints.

Command Inspection

The base was covered with Celluclay mixed with some dark earth paint. Footprints, track marks and snow were added. after the Celluclay dried

This diorama won a Gold Medal at Eagle Quest 2011
