This LCVP diorama was built using Italeri’s 1/35 LCVP kit and Tamiya’s Jeep. The LVCP was modified by first removing the armor plating from the sides.
The armor wasn’t on the boats till after D-Day. Also the kits figures were replaced with
Warriors LCVP resin figures and a fourth crewman was added. The kit comes with only has three; however, the boats had a four man crew.
The jeep is Tamiya’s new kit. It was modified using the top and passenger figure from their old jeep kit. Also the rear seat cargo is from Value Gear.
The water is celluclay. Once that dried it was covered with a layer of Liquitex Matte
Medium. then painted with Golden acrylics. It was followed with a couple of layers of Liquitex Gloss medium and varnish. The wake is angel hair coated with Liquitex Glass beads. This it also used for the wave tops and prop wash.
The kits were painted using Floquil, AK, Tamiya and Model Master paints. Weathering was done with Winsor Newton oils
