Mars Lunar Explorer Vehicle

The Mars Lunar Explorer Vehicle (MLEVS-5) is from Pegasus Hobbies. It’s a large model measuring 15.5 inches tall and 10 inches wide. The front windows allow you to view the complete interior.
The kit goes together well; however, be careful on step 17. In small print there is a “no cement” section and if you miss it, the landing gear won’t be correct.
The biggest challenge is painting the model. If you follow what’s called for in the instructions you’re in for a lot of masking.
But since this is Sci-Fi, you can make up your own paint scheme. Painting was done using Testors Model Masters, Alclad and Tamiya paints. The kit decal went on easily with no problems
I used after-markets parts for the ladder and platform. The screen for the lights is photo-etch and came with the kit.
