Pontiac Grand Prix NASCAR
By Alan Gomez
This 1/24 Revell Pontiac Grand Prix NASCAR was built straight out of the box. I didn’t do any scratch building as I usually do.
I used Testor red enamel sprayed over the Tamiya red oxide primer as the base color.
The wheels came chromed, but I stripped and repainted them. Goodyear was painted with a toothpick using a white gel pen. A Molotov Chrome marker was used on the lug nuts and bolt heads.
Engine and the bottom of the chassis are race weathered using the Tamiya wreathing compounds. I hand painted the window trim black from inside. The kit came as a “lift off” hood as it didn’t have hinges like more recent kits.
